Part 2, the pants: Sewing my LOK season 2 outfit plan
First off, I just want to say that this is simply an IDEA for a Halloween costume. This is not defiantly going to happen, I repeat, just an IDEA! So I thought yeah, this will take real effort. HMMM... great. So here are the materials I´m gonna use.
- 3 yards navy fabric. Some very observant people will notice it is the same fabric as last time. This is because of cheapness. It's used for the pants so the color is the same as the hoodie. About $5. https://www.walmart.com/ip/SHASON-TEXTILE-3-Yards-cut-CRAFT-PROJECTS-QUILTING-POLY-COTTON-FABRIC-INK-Available-In-Multiple-Colors/54806177?selected=true
- 1-yard velvety fabric. Used for the fabric in front of the top of the pants. $8? Pretty expensive, but might add to be a hood for the costume. https://www.amazon.com/Stretch-Velvet-Fabric-Yard-Midnight/dp/B00REYECZY?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_6
- Elastic 2 yards maybe? Used for the pants. $9 https://www.amazon.com/White-Knit-Elastic-Spool-0-75/dp/B086SY54KM/ref=zg_bs_262692011_15?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=P7Z2DWM9GBCZNY93EBBN
So the total for the pants would be $22 Wow which is expensive. I may use a different fabric behind the pants like this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/SHASON-TEXTILE-3-Yards-cut-CRAFT-PROJECTS-QUILTING-POLY-COTTON-FABRIC-ROYAL-Available-In-Multiple-Colors/54806210?selected=true
So, into this section of the post. My plan for the pants. So, I´m gonna take a pair of sweatpants and outline them on the fabric. Then I´ll do this a second time, then take the wrong side of each piece of fabric and sew each part but the top together. I will cut a piece of fabric the size of my waist, and sew elastic to a side of that. Then I will sew this to the waist of my DIY pants, and then leave a bit of elastic hanging out to adjust the elastic. Finally, I will cut out a semi-circle of the second royal blue fabric, just big enough to cover the pants up to just above the knee. This will finish my Korra costume part 2 plan.
